Well be back!

December 7, 2015

This is a short praise report that my luggage and I arrived back to campus safely very early Monday morning after two blissfully uneventful flights.  There was some excitement at the gate at Dulles when KLM decided to begin to enforce a rule that your carryons cannot exceed 12 kg (~ 25 pounds)… combined.  This was quite a surprise, and not a pleasant one since I had an expensive piece of A/V equipment for the University in one bag, and my laptop in another.  However, that was sufficient for me to carry both bags on board.  I had to repeat that drill in Amsterdam, but again, the staff was very helpful once they realized they didn’t want to be responsible for anything potentially happening to the equipment.

Kitty Meri was here to greet me, and she even let me sleep about four hours before waking me for her breakfast and morning tour de campus.  Though I didn’t miss that while I was in the US, I did miss falling asleep while she was somewhere near my feet.

It is now 6:42 pm, and naturally, I’m hoping to stay awake until 8.  However, the sun is setting, and staying awake is hard work.  Who knew?
