One of my joys in coming to the US in November is being able to participate in our diocesan Synod. It’s the one time a year that I get to participate in a diocesan activity.
For the last two years, I’ve served on the credentials committee. This is the committee that certifies that we have a quorum, and can therefore proceed with business. It also allows me to meet the delegates, which is also a lot of fun.

Another joy of the Synod was receiving my dean from UCU. He had been in the States for a few weeks to attend various meetings, so to have him not only in my diocese, but also in my home church, was an absolute delight.

That photo is proof that I cannot talk without moving my hands.
And of course, I’m the one looking at a different screen for the words to the processional hymn…

When I was checking in, the young woman who registered me confused me with the priest who is in front of me in the procession. Since she’s both an amazing woman and a fabulous priest, I take it as a compliment!
