iPad in Uganda

January 5, 2011

Power came back, and we were able to enjoy our smoothies.  I know you feel so much better knowing that.

Today we went to the supermarket, and since there was no food in the house (see previous phrase), we went to Good African Coffee for lunch.  It’s a bit like Starbucks with a more robust menu.  They might even have wifi, as evidenced by the two African men who were sitting near us with a Mac laptop, PC laptop, and an iPad, who seemed like they were trying to connect to the internet.  Technology can skip several generations here in a heartbeat, so I was only marginally surprised to see it, yet on the other hand, REALLY?!  iPads already?!
