Back at UCU after a wonderful, albeit way too short, holiday. Bishop Muhima told me that the room I was staying in is now mine, so I guess I have a home in Kampala now. 🙂
I’m back in my same room, without a roommate this semester (there are fewer students in May). I’m still getting settled, and am tired, so more will come later. I have no idea why, but I didn’t sleep terribly well on holiday. One factor was the nearby mosque blasting first prayers at 5:30 every day. I’m looking forward to getting some rest while everyone else returns to campus slowly, then classes start in earnest on Monday.
We have five courses scheduled to allow for research time for our proposals, though I really can’t finish my literature review until I get home in August. I think I’m going to take advantage of the lighter load and take Greek I as well. The down side to that is that it will be the same lecturer as I had for Hebrew. 🙂 We have another class with her too, but I don’t want to wait until January because I’ll be finishing my dissertation then, and want to save my “free” time for that.
A friend has borrowed my laptop for a couple weeks (due back 15 May), so I’ll be checking e-mail once a day or so in the computer lab. This is so strange, and makes me realize how spoiled I am.
