Greetings from Uganda!
I’ve arrived safely, with all luggage attached. The flights were blissfully uneventful (with the exception of mashing my big toe on something, and it hurts). Tonight, I’m staying with Dan Button and his family (one of Dan’s duties at UCU is the patron of the international students). I’m told that I will be able to check into my dorm tomorrow. Dan explained more about the dorm – I’ll be staying in the Honours College dorm, which is primarily for international/scholarship students. There are many benefits to this – lots of cross-cultural relationships, and the dorms are in the center of campus (so I won’t have to run ALL over hill and dale). On the agenda tomorrow is confirming that the school has received my school fees, and trying to hunt down Bp. Muhima’s kids so Sara can make good on her offer to take me school shopping (sheets, towels, pillow, etc.).
And I was able to fit everything in one suitcase and two carry-ons! I still don’t know whether this was the way to go, but I’m thrilled it happened.
Jessica,
I enjoy reading your blogs. Keep up what you are doing for you are doing it well and enjoy this blessed time. Anne
Gideon Muhima took me shopping, and I got the linens, towels, etc. Whew!
I don’t know Grace. Do you know what progamme she’s in? That would be helpful.
Heard you met Grace Mwysegwie (sp?). Her daughter Faith is staying with our fam right now. If you see her again, please give her a great BIG hug from Faith and the Huddlestons! Living on the equator….I’m jealous!

So fabulous to see you have arrived safely! Looking forward to hearing more about the dorm situation and seeing photos. Did you find the linens that you needed?? Big hugs, Heidi
