Banner night

July 1, 2010

Killed three mosquitoes in my room last night.  Unfortunately, two were smashed against the laptop screen.  The laptop screen is fine, though I need to clean it.  The good thing about the power being out for a time is that they go to the light, then I can get them.  Later I took cover under the mosquito net, and one was sitting there, minding its business, when I got it.  I know that its business was to get my blood, so I’m really not that repentant about it.  Yes, I’ll explain myself to God on Judgment Day.  Good thing He already knows about it.
I’m told that power has been so poor because UMEME (the power company) is upgrading their transformers and laying new poles and lines.  That’s inherently fine.  UCU has a generator.  Its turnaround time hasn’t been as quick as previous semesters, though.  And the place I go to print isn’t on the generator, so I have to print at the library.  THAT has become exciting.  I miss Ritah and Eva, the ladies who work where I go to print, for a number of reasons.  If it weren’t the end of the semester, I’d get a printer.  Here’s to the semester ending quickly (well, not too quickly, I have to much to do!!) and UMEME getting things set by the time the new semester starts.
